RGC Presentation: All You Ever Wanted to Learn About Playing Jazz Guitar...and More" by Jon Greeno

Jon Greeno, graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, will bring his knowledge, experience and tricks of the trade to the Rochester Guitar Club on August 17, 2015.

In addition to being a smoking’ player and composer, Jon by day is the Manager of Product Support at Neustar, Inc., a telecommunications company.

Jon has been playing in various fusion, jazz, and soul/funk bands around the Rochester area for the last 15 years. He has fronted his own trio which has played numerous times in local venues. In addition he has organized and played in a series of “Twang Fests” locally that featured many of the area’s ace guitarists around town. Jon has several CD’s to his credit including “Footnote”
and his recently released effort “Catharsis”, which features many original compositions.

Some of Jon’s presentation topics and demonstrations will include:

Common Chord Progressions
Substitutions
Scales and/or patterns
Playing in an ensemble
