January Meeting Playlist, January 19, 2009

Our first return to Monday night meetings was relaxing on every level. New faces and old faces mingled and chatted at the Mez while Dye & Johnson jammed in the background. There was a brief discussion of upcoming events followed by Carter’s medley of Croce tunes and more delightful solos and duets.

Kinloch asked for volunteers for our March Concert with Richard Smith and Julie Adams at the Harmony House to sell tickets, CD’s, snacks, represent the Club, etc. If you want to participate, feel free to let us know via the Contact Us link on this site. Dan Feuerstein explained the coupon books which are now available for $20 and can serve as an important fund raiser for RGC.

Here is the complete play list for the evening:

Chuck Dye & Larry Johnson, All the Things You Are (Jerome Kern)
Jerry Carter, Medley (Jim Croce)
I Got a Name
I’ll Have to Say I Love You in a Song
Bad, Bad Leroy Brown
Time in a Bottle

Bernie Lehmann, Sunlight (Jesse Colin Young)
Andreas Pankawytch, Prelude to Goodbye (Alfonso Montes)
Mark Grover, Lucy Watusi (Don Ross)
Chuck Dye & Larry Johnson, All of Me (Gerald Marks)
Kinloch Nelson, A Solitude (original)
Von Martt, Dabbling in Dropped C (original)
John Donsky, Romanza (anonymous)
Allen Vitberg, Billy in the Low Ground (traditional)
Brad Calkins, Marbletown, Mark Knoplfer
Ted Peck, Misty (Erroll Garner)
Paul Dimiero, Howl (Ed Gerhard)
Craig Zaremba, The Zoo (Scorpions)
Kinloch Nelson, Sleepwalk (Santo & Johnny)

As we have often heard before the range of various acoustic styles was impressive. Some of the highlights in addition to the music itself were Lehmann’s playing on a baroque-style guitar that he made in his own studio, Grover’s open Dm7 tuning and Dimerro’s sound hole pickup.
