About Dawn Thomson:

Rochester-based guitarist/vocalist Dawn Thomson was born in Hastings, Nebraska. She grew up in Montreal and moved to NY City in 1993. For the past two years she has been living in Rochester with husband and jazz festival producer, John Nugent and their two children Jess (7) and Amelia. (3)

Dawn has performed and toured extensively in North American and Europe with her own groups and has released 6 recordings as a leader. Her debut album in 1991, “The Best Things in Life” received fabulous reviews from numerous trade magazines and garnered considerable airplay in Canadian markets. Dawn has performed in a variety of situations with a long list of diverse artists such as Renee Rosnes, Matt Wilson, Don Thompson, Terell Stafford, Mulgrew Miller, Peter Bernstein, The Woody Herman Orchestra, Harry Allen, Claudia Acuna, Randy Brecker and many others.
