Western New York Guitar Show & Swap Meet, May 7, 2017
With all of the rain we have been getting lately, I found a cure to bring my spirits up this past weekend. I attended the recent 2017 Western New York Guitar Show and Swap Meet on Sunday, May 7. The event is held in a large room at the Marriot Hotel, 1340 Millersport Highway in Amherst, NY. For a mere $5.00 admission you can enter into a room with tons of used and new musical related gear for sale.
You never know what you are going to find at one of the music booths. Another thing to watch for are people who come in walking around with gear for sale. It is very interesting to see so many enthusiastic people wheeling and dealing and exchanging information as they walk around. The room is ablaze with people talking and laughing while guitar sounds come from all around the room.
Some people just come because they are curious while others are very serious sellers and buyers. I am always excited, not only to see what is for sale, but also to greet old friends, make new friends and professional connections, as I learn something new in the music world.
