Jeremy Carter Memorial

We are sad to inform you of the passing of guitar club member and friend, Jeremy Carter, who died Saturday, October 2, after a month-long battle with COVID-19. Jerry was a big part of our club.  With us since almost the very beginning, over the years, he contributed a lot to the organization.  He has been a loyal and consistent meeting attendee, the club treasurer, the guy who would bring along his PA system to meetings to let people play through if they wanted to, the guy who brought the card table, membership list and membership cards to every meeting before meetings went to Zoom, and who would selflessly stick by it whenever we put on a concert.  Jerry always had a song to play even when he wasn’t prepared and would cheerfully play another if we ran out of material.  He contributed ideas and suggestions at board meetings, offered the use of his home and was happy to make tea or coffee for anyone who wanted it.  Most of all Jerry always encouraged others to play, no matter their skill level or how they thought about themselves or their music.  We at the club and at the many open mics he attended will all miss him.

Calling hours were held at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road, Greece on Sunday, October 10, from 1pm to 5pm The notice was in the D&C on Thursday, January Seventh. A full obituary for Jeremy is on the Vay-Schleich & Meeson website. https://meesonfamily.com/obits/jeremy-l-carter/
