Introducing our June 6 Concert

Harmony House is a three-story building dating from 1899. It was purchased in 1974 by the Chorus of the Genesee, an organization devoted to preserving the original American art form of Barbershop Harmony. It has been restored and still functions as a Grange Hall. It is also used by Heartland Music which is cosponsoring this event. It is a fascinating piece of architecture as well as a popular venue for classical, folk and other acoustic music, and this building would be a worthwhile subject for an historical tour.

Shortly after 8:00 pm. Kinloch Nelson got things started by thanking Ralph Hunt and Judy Gradford for welcoming us to Harmony House, followed by introductions of Rochester Guitar Club and what our club does, our four guests and the types of music they were about to provide, plus a reminder to folks about CDs and food offered for sale in the hall and the raffle of Jazzfest Club Passes to take place at intermission. He also reminded us that Michael Smith and Sweet Patootie are soon coming to Harmony House and that Rochester Guitar Club will bring Muriel Anderson to the area in September!
